WCRI was incorporated in Nigeria as non-profit, non-religious and non governmental agency. WCRI obtained legal status in 2018 with Corporate Affairs Commission with number CAC/IT/No. 114519 and was registered with Special Control Unit against Money Laundering (SCUML) in 2021 with number RN: SC 081401418. WCRI is duly qualified to enjoy tax exemption status granted under section 23(1c) of Companies Income Tax Act (CITA) CAP C21 Law of Federation of Nigeria 2004 as amended to date. WCRI was established due to a deep concern for the plight of the vulnerable population especially wandering child who have been marginalized, abandoned and at risk of being recruited by the violent extremist groups. WCRI activities are designed to support the wandering child reach full potential and
live life of dignity by generating the resources needed to support achievements of WCRI objectives and providing access to necessary awareness and expertise required for creating nurturing environment. WCRI have associates professionals that have experience in various aspects of humanitarian, development and public sectors, and has the capacity to draw from these associates, to develop any need based programme or project and to mobilize programme or project management and implementation team. WCRI have good working relationship with the government and wide range of stakeholders in Northeast Nigeria and the Lake Chad Basin Area, and has the capability of identifying appropriate stakeholders as may be required by any project or programme and establishes cordial working relationships for effective and efficient implementation of project or programme.
